UNDERSTANDING PROGRAMMING

Understanding that the faculties of your mind actually work through belief is very important. So do not say to yourself that this will not work because that misses the point. You must believe, have faith and expect. You can actually prove this with a book for instance, simply tell yourself that you understand the material and build up that perspective of confidence knowing that you "get it" right before you go to read and then from time to time through out reading the book simply remind your self, you will through belief gain a better ability to comprehend the material. And similar to reading a book our faculties can be used to develop our belief system. Below we will use our mental faculties to develop empowering beliefs that will then help us create a pro-sober lifestyle.

So with that in mind we can call upon some of our mental faculties such as both thought conceptual and awareness perceptual in general and our ability to visualize and imagine and our emotions, simply by role playing and in doing so we can wonder into another dimension our life can take on, this then alters aspects of our belief system in a very helpful way. We can experience change very effectively in this manner. Another extremely effective tool is to use spoken affirmations while in a deep state of relaxation, this will have a very profound effect on your mind allowing you to take in the information at a much deeper level. While being entrained to a subconscious and synchronized state we can have a far reaching impact on our belief system while using affirmations and experiencing the extreme benefits entrainment provides for development and growth. We can literally evolve as masters of addiction. Why? Because the root cause of all addiction is belief or more specifically a pro-addict belief system. Combining these tools can be very powerful and in the program there are many, many even more powerful tools added as well. You will see the benefits of relaxation as you begin to experiment with these techniques and you will come to realize a very strong affinity to sobriety and if you like the benefits you receive as much as I did you can then go on to do the entire program. A HABIT FOR
 BREAKING HABITS

Intro: This is a neat little way of helping to reprogram your mind, it’s not all encompassing, but it helps.

Step 1: Think of times right before you use and the type of internal dialogue and or ideas you may have at those times. Then simply frame it into sentences such as: “Maybe I’ll have some ____?” Or: “Now I’d like to use ____.” Be creative, think of what is coming to mind, every time before you use. Write this down, you may write down as many or as few as you like. 

Step 2: Then think of a rejection sentence. Such as: “No thanks.” Or: “Not right now.” Or “Na, maybe not.” And then write these sentences down as well.

Step 3: Simply say out-loud one sentence from step 1 and then finish with one answer from step 2. Do this repeatedly any where over about one hundred times per combination. First use one combination then start over again with a different combination. Spend about 10 minutes to over a half hour doing this. 

Example: “Maybe I’ll have some ____?” “Not right now.” (Repeat combined sentences 100 times out loud.)

Then do another combination: “Now I’d like to use ____.” “Na, maybe not.” (Repeat combined sentences 100 times out loud.)

Take a short breather afterwards.

Conclusion: You need to try this for 10 - 20 minutes. And it will pretty much do what it’s going to do at that point. But … it does help quite a bit. To the degree that you IDENTIFY with your perspective, your thoughts, your actions, your words and your emotions while role playing this “game” is the degree you begin to learn this info. This process of identifying with it, is what causes this technique to change your thought patterns. While doing this, see it and feel it as if it is a real situation, as though you're really in the moment. Good luck …

POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS
 FOR SOBRIETY



After you have done the first 3 steps. Next, reinforce these changes with some positive affirmations. Using the same process of identification, simply use positive affirmations instead.

Step 4: Write a short list of positive affirmations, that support sobriety.

Step 5: Say out-loud each affirmation and then repeat the same list over and over again and do this for about 10 - 20 minutes.

Remember: Say these affirmations as though you really mean it, regardless of whether you actually do, pretend none the less. See it and feel it and imagine that you are being VERY convincing. Also take big deep breaths while doing this, perhaps between sentences. You may make your own list or simply use the very effective list below:

Positive Affirmations:

I have done every thing necessary to be sober right now.
I choose to be sober right now.
I am sober right now.
I am comfortable with being sober.
I am always sober.
I always enjoy being sober.
Being sober feels great.
I only keep company with sober people.
Finish off with some deep breaths and go on about your day.

Conclusion: This helps reinforce the earlier steps and once again it is as effective as you are capable of identifying with it. Remember this is not really “lying” because we are trying to change to begin with. This change happens as the mind compensates, making the beliefs “right.” Make sure when using the steps 1-3 to finish the entire process with steps 4-5.
